Musings of an Expat Dad

Life in Singapore as a trailing spouse and 'mostly' stay-at-home dad raising two little boys in the tropics!

Welcome to the Internet, I think?

This is my very first PUBLIC blog post. Usually, my disturbing and critical thoughts are kept to myself, my wife, or a personal journal on my computer, but for some reason I have been given permission, or even encouraged (shocking) to put my thoughts out on the internet because apparently I have some semi-insightful, part-mocking, takes on things that happen in daily life in and around myself and the world. I usually think its my cynical, glass half-empty nature that makes me so unappealing for a deeper friendship, but intriguing enough for people to start to get to know and maybe read about??

So, this will be my attempt at chronicling my life as an expat father, from daily tantrums and parenting foibles, to living in the tropical ant-capitol of the world, trying not to feint the moment I step out and explore Singapore society with my family. This is mostly a project of just one man’s opinion, clearly not an authority on anything with the emphasis on “man’s opinion”, of how it is to live, travel, and navigate life as a father to two young boys. I hope my writing makes you think, laugh, or give you insight as to how offensive a trained psychotherapist can be as a real person in the world. At any rate, feel free to comment so I feel like I am loved virtually.
