I have lived in Singapore on my first expat experience, as a trailing spouse and mostly stay-at-home dad no less, for over 1.5 years now. I intend for this to be my day-to-day, or week-to-week story of the struggles, and blessings, of starting a new life abroad with all the crazy thoughts and musings I have as I live in this new society with my young family of four. Or maybe, this will just be a travel blog highlighting our family trips, and child battles.
A Bit About Me
Son of a Thai father and Cantonese mother, raised in suburban Chicago and confused about his identity. Political Science major and news junkie that loved current events, but could not stand the duldrums of a 9-5 desk job. I worked for 10 years in exercise and sports related jobs, from personal training to triathlon coaching to high school swimming coach/weightlifting god (according to impressionable teenage boys). All the while, completed a Masters in Counseling and reluctantly worked with kids and adults in schools and private practice as a psychotherapist (with an emphasis on ‘psycho’). Now, a father of two boys (a three-nager and growing baby of 7+ months), and starting a blog because I have too many damn thoughts about life to be contained in my warped mind.
